That was a very fun blog.

I would need more information on Hintz. Is he a full-time center? Seems like there's some ambiguity as to whether he's a LW or center

Leddy for Olofsson is crazy town. Hard no.

The last one is a yes for sure

Nice work.

Thanks! Had fun putting it together

My understanding is Hintz is a legit centre but Bowness isn't big on him/any rookies so he's sort of been relegated to the whatever slot is open position.

I honestly believe it’s probably a fair trade, but just personally, I’ve never liked Strome at all, and I happen to really like Kahun.

I think it’s possible Strome is a very bad fit with Krueger

I dont disagree, i made the trade under the assumption they stop playing STL style hockey. Im knee deep in my make believe world here

If they made the deal I wouldn’t hate it.
But I think they can get a very solid value contract in Kahun this offseason

So do I, i like his ability to out perform his XG. I wonder if they can get a team friendly cap hit if they give him 3 years instead of 2. They get a nice cap hit and Kahun gets contract expiry at UFA status at a young age.

I don't care what some of the Florida guys are saying, if it's true the owner wants to shed salary, then we should be calling them daily about Cozens and Mittelstadt for Barkov as a starting piece to a deal.

It doesn't look like they're going to resign Hoffman, either.

I really don't see many options for us. Our hand is played and teams have seen it.

I don't see Botterill pulling off any "blockbuster" trades. He completely missed on the ROR deal and I think it will haunt him into to being gun-shy in the future. He got fleeced.

What we really need to do is send Mittelstadt, Ristolainen and this year's 1st to Chicago for Kane and be done with it already, either make it happen or make something equivalent happen because this fanbase is blind of they can't see next season going the exact same way at this rate.

I think he’s a guy you could get for 4-5 years at 3-3.5 and it would be solid.

I’d imagine being on his 3rd team already might make him more inclined for some stability

You mention possible trades of restricted free agents so do you think Ullmark is safe as the number one. As he is a Restricted free agent and penciled in as the number one what do you see as the amount he will try to land. Is there a number that the GM has in mind and could he be trade bait if he wants more than the GM wants to pay. Hutton is a career backup with one year left so I believe he will just stay put.

To paraphrase Johnny Paycheck, take this trade and shove it

make a deal for Olofsson, I'd have to imagine Nick Leddy is the big piece they'd try to send back the other way.

I'm not saying Buffalo should take this deal, I'm just saying Leddy is the probably the biggest piece from the Islanders' roster that they'd be willing to give up.

Ullmark is nothing more than a stop-gap before Luukkonen is (hopefully)ready. I'd be surprised if he got more than a year or 2 at a modest raise, 2 for $3.75M total, something like that.

Kahun seems like steal for the price paid. Judging from just the few games I saw the Pens play this season, I was a little surprised when they traded him.

Nice blog sir. Think you can negotiate a deal with Montreal for Max Domi?

I’m all over Hintz straight up for Reinhart if I’m Buffalo . If that actually was on the table and Botteril Thurber it down ? I think there would be much later regret . Hintz is going to be very , very good .

MTL is very unlikely to trade him in the division

Those two players are not getting you Strome , let alone Strome plus I don’t think . I’m sure there would be better offers out there

Thanks! Regarding Domi, I bet the "division tax" Id have to pay would make the trade less worthwhile. Definitely fits the scheme Im going for though.

I think Barkov isn't worth putting too much time into trying to figure out what it would cost to acquire him. Yes, everyone knows that Florida is trying to cut their salary by quite a bit, however Barkov has probably the best salary in the league for a 1C when comparing the amount he makes and his talent level. I would add Huberdeau to the same category for value contract.
